The standard path runs Westney Road south to the Highway 407 on-ramp near the Claremont Road intersection, then west along the 407 through the Durham–York corridor, connecting to Highway 427 south and then Highway 409 directly into the airport grounds. That toll route is our default for Claremont pickups for one reason: it completely avoids the Highway 401 through Pickering, Ajax, and Scarborough, which compresses badly during any morning commuter window and on Friday afternoons heading into the long weekend.
